Jane Osterhaus

Softball Instructor

Jane graduated from Loras College and earned a Masters Degree in Physical Education from University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse.

Jane moved to San Jose, CA in 1985. She served as an Assistant Softball Coach at San Jose State University for 12 years. She also served as an Assistant Professor in the Kinesiology Department for 22 years. She retired from the university in May 2010 to return to Iowa. She also conducted private softball lessons at Hardtke World of Baseball for 10 years. A number of her clients went on to earn scholarships at Division I and Division II softball programs, including UCLA, Stanford, San Jose State University, etc.

Single Lesson Rates: $25 for 30 minutes. $40 for 60 minutes.
Series of Lessons Rates: $20 for 30 minutes. $30 for 60 minutes.

Mike Schemmel

Sports Operations and Maintenance

mike-schemmel-instructorMike was born and raised in Monticello, Iowa, and he’s still here. Mike was a two-sport athlete in cross-country and track. He is currently active playing slow-pitch softball, golf, and running. Mike has a wife Mindy and a daughter Leah. Mike does an exceptional job with the upkeep of the facility along with ensuring that the day to day operations run smoothly.

Aaron VanScoyoc

Baseball Instructor

Aaron is the son of legendary coach Jim Van Scoyoc, graduated from Norway High School in 1988. He is a two time State Baseball Champion, and twice MVP of the State Baseball Tournament. He was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles out of high school but decided to attend Westark C. C. instead of signing a professional contract. He was drafted again after one year of college by the New York Yankees and played 3 years in the Yankees farm system.

His areas of strengths are solid pitching fundamentals, hitting and fielding areas.

Rates: $30 for 30 minutes and $50 for 60 minutes.
